Best spot likely this evening: North side of Mercy Hospital, there are 2 chimneys, the shorter one has been used by several hundred swifts last 2 years.
Bird City Janesville conducts a simultaneous count at various chimneys around the city to get an accurate count of the population on two Sundays during the migration period. For this one, after much reconnaissance, we will meet at the one of the sites in the area that may be hosting hundreds of swifts at night. Volunteers from Green Rock Audubon will be present to talk about chimney swifts and binoculars will be available to borrow. Bring a lawn chair.
